Today, there are many different jewellery items available, specially crafted to mark a Holy Communion.  There is, of course, the cross, and this can come in many forms; in gold or silver, suspended from a neck chain,  or attached to a bracelet.  A simple cross will always be very welcome, but there are other pieces of jewellery that will be just as well-received.

A lovely idea is a name bracelet, with the child’s name fashioned in beads or engraved on silver or gold, making a truly unique gift.  On the bracelet theme, the ever-popular charm bracelet makes a perfect gift because there are several different charms that can be attached to it;  a cross, of course,  but also, perhaps,  a dove, a heart, or a guardian angel.  A charm bracelet can be added to over the years to mark other important occasions in the little girl’s life.

Lockets make a wonderful Holy Communion gift and here, again, the choice today is vast.  They can be plain with, perhaps, a simple engraving to mark the occasion, or more elaborate, set with precious stones or, very popular these days, Swarovski crystals. If the locket contains a photo of the girl on the day she was born, it will make it truly personal, ensuring it becomes a gift to be treasured throughout her life.
