How to wear women’s tights in warmer months

Summer is finally here; the weather is warmer and the days are longer.  Instead of being wrapped up in countless winter warming layers we can finally wear our summer clothes.  While winter might have been spent in thick, opaque, women’s tights for warmth, summer allows much greater freedom of choice.  So when preparing your summer wardrobe, which kinds of hosiery should you be looking for?

In summer you want to keep cool; the traditional choice of a pair of light denier, skin-coloured tights is of course always an option.  M&S have their Bare range of tights which are intended to look and feel as if you are not wearing tights.  They are made with a material that cools you while you walk; perfect for hot summer days.  If you seek a tanned look, instead of using fake tan, consider a pair of tights that will do the trick; Pretty Polly are among the UK names who manufacture sun oil shades of tights, intended to give your legs the look of a natural tan.  However if you are feeling more adventurous or want to make a fashion statement while still keeping cool for summer there are plenty of options out there.

Coloured tights were popular in the winter, and seem to be continuing in popularity through the summer.  Oroblu All Colours are a major brand to consider if you’re looking for a bright colour; they come in almost every colour and are available at only 20 denier so are not thick or hot to wear in summer.  There are also light denier pattered tights which are great to add variety to a solid colour dress.  Choosing footless tights means you can wear a pair of sandals; patterned footless tights with a short skirt or dress are a great choice for a hot day, and will keep you feeling cool and comfortable while looking great.
